Privacy Statement

The General Data Protection Regulation (AVG) will apply from May 25, 2018, which means that from that date the same privacy legislation will apply throughout the European Union (EU). Below we give you point by point, what this means for you as a customer at Old Home Decorations (Ald & Nij Brocante).

In general:
  • Old Home Decorations (Ald & Nij Brocante) respects the privacy of all users of its site and ensures that the personal information you provide is treated confidentially. We use your data to process orders as quickly and easily as possible. We will only use this information with your permission. We will not sell your personal details to third parties and will only make them available to third parties who are involved in processing your order.
  • Our employees and third parties engaged by us are obliged to respect the confidentiality of your data.
  • We have the legal obligation to file tax returns with the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, which has the right to inspect our (and therefore your) data. We use a professional accountant as an intermediary. These parties are of course each legally obliged to take care of our (and your) privacy.
  • In this context, we are also bound by the legally required storage period of our bookkeeping (including all invoices) to be able to show that our declarations have been submitted correctly.
  • All data that we store digitally from you is stored on a Secure Server and is therefore protected. With the company that processes this for us, we have concluded a processing agreement in the context of the AVG.
Orders:
  • If you place an order with Old Home Decorations (Ald & Nij Brocante), your name, address, postcode (zipcode), place and country of residence and e-mail address are the minimum details that we require from you in order to handle an order properly and to ensure that the items are sent to the right person.
  • In addition, we ask you for a salutation (Mr/Mrs) to speak to you more neatly and a telephone number to contact you in case of any questions and/or problems.
  • On our bank account and with our I-deal provider we can see what your name and bank account number is, to be able to check whether an order has been paid and so we can proceed to dispatch. Furthermore, we only use this bank account number for any refunds to take place.
  • If you order on behalf of a company you can add the company name and optionally your Chamber of Commerce number and VAT number, so that this can be stated on your invoice.
  • You can order with or without an account at our online store. If you choose to create an account, you create a username and password for this, with which you can order faster and easier the next time, because your personal details are then automatically filled in when you are logged in.
  • We can not view the password you have created, but it is possible for us to overwrite an existing password. We only do this when you have indicated to us that logging in fails, so that we can create a new password in our system for you to help you to complete your order.
Newsletter:
  • You can subscribe to our newsletter on our website. For this we need your e-mail address, which is stored in our system in order to keep you informed of news, offers and promotions. This newsletter is sent on average once every four weeks, because we do not want to bother you excessively.
  • You can also choose whether or not to sign up for our newsletter during an order. In that case, both your name and your email address will be registered.
  • You can choose to unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time. For this you will find a link at the bottom of the newsletter, but you can also e-mail us at info@aldennij.nl.
Social Media:
  • You can follow and like us on various Social Media channels. If you follow us, you will be able to receive our messages and stay informed of news and promotions. If you participate in giveaways we will contact you via Social Media in case you have won something. Of course we then also need your name, address, postcode (zipcode), city and country to be able to send the price to you.
Cookies:
  • Cookies are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer. Old Home Decorations (Ald & Nij Brocante) uses cookies to recognize you on a subsequent visit. Cookies enable us to gather information about the use of our services and to improve and adapt these to the wishes of our visitors. Our cookies provide information concerning personal identification. Feedback:

  • After sending your order you will receive an invitation to give feedback about the processing of your order. We have engaged an independent third party for this purpose. In this way our customers can honestly read about your experiences with our company. We have no further influence on this. We can only respond to the feedback you provide.
  • Giving feedback is of course not compulsory, but can help us to improve our services.
  • The details that you fill in with your feedback will be publicly available via a link on our website. The email address given here will not be made public, but will only be used to ensure that you will not receive an invitation to the same email address again.
We hope to have informed you as clearly as possible about your privacy as you do business with us. If you still have questions, please contact us via our contact form on our website or e-mail us at info@aldennij.nl.
